Roof Finishes / Roof Shingles

Enhance your investment further...

What are the main roof designs?

There are two types of roof design. Apex: This is the traditional type of roof. This is easy to remember as it is the shape of an A. The other type is the single sloping roof called Pent.

What type of felt do you use?

As standard our sheds have a heavy duty roofing felt. This felt has a rubber component, which makes it very hard to rip plus it grips the nails far better than any other felt on the market.

What options are there for roof finish?

CEDAR SHINGLES

Eastern White Cedar Shingles

Eastern white cedar is ideal for exterior construction because it is naturally durable and resistant to moisture, decay and insect damage. There are examples all over the world of white cedar shingles lasting well over 100 years. With its richness of grain, texture and color, white cedar offers a timeless complement to any architectural style, from traditional to contemporary. For the energy-wise, white cedar has a unique cell structure that traps tiny pockets of air to boost insulation and reduce home heating costs.

Western Red Cedar Shingles

Western Red Cedar shingles have been used for hundreds of years and have proven their durability in all kinds of climates. They can be used to create individual buildings, whether traditional or modern, and their rich, warm colour and texture blend beautifully in any natural environment. The natural effects of aging and weathering give shingles and shakes, in time, an attractive silvery grey colour.

Western Red Cedar is renowned for its insulation qualities, dimensional stability and natural resistance to the elements. It contains a natural preservative which makes the wood extremely durable in its natural state.

See our gazebos with the cedar finish, they look amazing.
